MAGNOLIA databases, which are
provided through the funding of the Mississippi State Legislature, are
readily available for all patrons.
These on-line databases provide up-to-date
informational, authoritative articles from both popular and educational
periodicals. Most of the EBSCO databases available
through MAGNOLIA are accessible both from the library computers as well
as personal computers at home.
These are accessible by going to:

and clicking on the name of the public library. Then find and click on your public library branch. You will be asked for a login; the login
for all of the branches in this system is:
magn1215.

The Library System is pleased to offer two genealogical ProQuest databases for those who wish to perform genealogical research:
Ancestry Library. and HeritageQuest Online.
These databases may be accessed from all library computers at the main library and branches. For the convenience of genealogical researchers, the
computer in the Mississippi Room is reserved for genealogical research.
To access HeritageQuest Online from home, go to HeritgeQuest Online Home Access. and enter your library card number without the spaces.
Learn-A-Test
Learn-A-Test (from LearningExpressLibrary) is a test and skill preparation website that may
be accessed free-of-charge from any library sytem computers or from home. Tests and skills include: GED; ACT; SAT prep; GRE; civil
service exam; ASVAB; skill iimprovement in math, reading, and writing for high school and college levels;
and many, many more.
These self-study tests are paced to the individual and are free
to access through the public library.
To begin click on "Learn-A-Test" above. Under New User, click on Register. At the Registration screen, enter a Username. Your local public
library patron barcode number may be used or create your own username. Enter a password of your choice, preceded by "007". For example, if
your name is John Doe, you could use "007johndoe" for your Username. Password must be at least six (6)
characters long. Enter your password again to verify typing. If desired, enter your email address. An email address is not required to
register for Learn-a-Test but does allow the system to send you your password if you do not remember what you chose. When finished, click
Register. A Guided Tour of the program is also provided in the lower right corner of the Learn-A-Test homepage.
