The Foundation was begun in 1984 for the purpose of: enhancing the BCLS by providing enrichment to its program of service; developing and carrying out programs to aid the betterment of the BCLS; and serving as a medium through which members of the public can contribute funds and property for use in aid of these purposes.  Over the years, this fund has enabled the BCLS to accomplish tasks that would not have been possible otherwise.
