eBooks & eAudiobooks

Bolivar County Library System
NOTICE: To comply with newly enacted Mississippi Code, §39-3-25, as of July 1, 2023, eBooks and eAudiobooks on both the CloudLibrary and hoopla platforms will only be available for checkout to adults 18-years and older.

All eBook/eAudiobook patrons must install the new CloudLibrary app to their mobile device to continue to check-out digital materials. If you were able to download the old app, you should have no problem with the new CloudLibrary app. Just go to your app store (i.e., Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon App, etc.), search for “free CloudLibrary,” and download/install the app. Then open the app on your device, search for and click on “Bolivar County Library System,” and log-in with your current credentials (i.e.., your library card number and PIN). If can’t remember your PIN or don’t have one, stop by the library to get one.

Go to https://yourcloudlibrary.com/en/home.html to get started.

Things to Know:

–As before, if an eBook or eAudiobook is not available that you would like to read, you may request that BCLS consider purchasing the item; however, we cannot guarantee we will purchase any requested title. Just ask for a Request Card at the Circulation Desk.

–Up to three titles may be checked out at a time for up to three weeks each

–When you finish a book, you may return it early or just wait and it will disappear from your device when the check-out period ends. Be aware, however, that if you have three book checked out, you will not be able to check-out another book until one is returned

–If a BCLS title is already checked out, you may place a Reserve/Hold on the item and will be notified when it is available

–In addition to titles purchased by BCLS, titles from other MS libraries in the CloudLibrary consortium (other libraries in MS that use CloudLibrary) will be available for check-out through CloudLink. CloudLink is seamless in that, if an eBook/eAudiobook is available (i.e., not checked out) from one of the libraries in the consortium, it will appear as “Available” within BCLS’s collection. Be aware that books from other libraries in the consortium will appear in BCLS’s collection ONLY if they are “Available” for checkout and cannot be placed on Reserve/Hold.

–BCLS patrons will always have priority on BCLS titles

We are pleased that the Mississippi Library Commision has renewed the subcription to hoopla for public libraries in Mississippi that allows access to eBooks and eAudiobooks! With an BCLS library card, patrons can download up to three materials per month. In order to comply with Mississippi Code, §39-3-25, materials in hoopla are not available to those under 18. Instead, a parents can create child profiles on their accounts.
