We currently offer two different eBook and eAudio platforms: Axis 360, a Baker & Taylor platform that is provided by BCLS, and The Palace Project, a nonprofit, library-centered platform that is provided by the Mississippi Library Commission. They both provide eBook and eAudiobooks to our patrons. The difference is that you need to have a BCLS library card to access Axis 360 and must either download the Axis 360 app or read on your PC through the Read Now browser-based app, but anyone residing in Mississippi can access eBooks/eAudios through The Palace Project by downloading the free app from their app store to their Apple or Android mobile device.

I. Axis 360 (Baker & Taylor)

Go straight to the Magic Wall.

Browse, check out, and download eBooks and eAudiobooks using the Axis 360 Mobile app or the Read Now browser-based app (desktop computers and portable devices such as MacBooks and Surface Pros)! With these apps you can read eBooks or listen to eAudiobooks – all with the same app.

Using your mobile device. Go to the Google Play Store, the Apple Store, or the Amazon App Store (for compatible Kindle tablets) to download and install the mobile app for your device. When logging in the first time, select Bolivar County Library System, enter your library card number (the barcode on the back of your card entered without the spaces) and your password/PIN.

Using your desktop PC, laptop, or portable mobile devices (i.e., tablet). Open your device’s web browser, go to the BCLS Magic Wall then using your library card number (the barcode on the back of entered without the spaces) and your password/PIN.

  • What if I don’t know my password/PIN? Call (662) 843-2774 x109 or ask at the Circulation Desk at any Bolivar County library to get a password/PIN.
  • How do I find out if the browser in my portable mobile device is compatible with the Axis 360 Mobile App? To check compatibility, go to Axis 360 Device Compatibility Matrix webpage.
  • How do I find out if my desktop PC or mobile device is compatible with the Read Now App? To check compatibility and answers to other questions, go to Read Now Browser Reader FAQs webpage.

Ready to make your selections and check-out? Go to the Axis 360 Magic Wall to see what’s available. Keep in mind that eBooks have a “book” icon in the upper left-hand corner of the book, while the eAudiobooks have a “headphone” icon instead.

  • How many eBooks and/or eAudiobooks can I check out at a time? You may check out up to three eBooks or eAudiobooks (any combination of three).
  • How long can I keep them? The check out period is two weeks. You may return items when you are finished. The item will clear your account within an hour and you can check-out another item.
  • Need help with eBooks and/or eAudiobooks? Go to Welcome to Axis 360 Help & Training for step-by-step instructions for setting up your account and using the apps.

As with print books, if you don’t see an eBook or eAudiobook on Axis 360 that you would like to read, you may request that BCLS consider purchasing the item. Just ask for a Request Card at the Circulation Desk.

II. The Palace Project

Enjoy thousands of free eBooks, audiobooks, and more from your local library. The Palace Project app offers you all the eBooks and eAudiobooks from one easy-to-use app, so you can search once, find your title, and start reading in just a few taps.

Can I Use Any Device? Unfortunately, no. Currently, The Palace Project app is only compatible with newer iOS (Apple) and Android devices. Go to Mobile Device Compatibility to find out if your device is compatible.

Getting Started. First, you must go to your device’s app store to install The Palace Project app, which is free. For more information about this process, go to Getting Started or Getting Started in Spanish, whichever version you choose, in Step #2 “Find Your Library” choose “Mississippi Library Commission.”

Virtual Library Card. Once you install and open the app, if you haven’t already, you must create a Virtual Library Card to use the app. When you are prompted to “Find Your Library” choose “Mississippi Library Commission.” When following the instructions, please note that the illustrations may not look exactly the same on your device.

Having Problems Using the App? If you have any problems using the app, go to Common Problems for Android Devices or Common Problems for iOS Devices.
