TAG is a program offered at the Robinson-Carpenter Memorial Library in Cleveland for teens in grades 7 through 12 and membership is open to any interested Bolivar County teen in this age group. The mission of TAG is to promote the Bolivar County Library System (BCLS) and its materials and services to teens. BCLS strives to accomplish this mission in a variety of ways. By creating a safe, attractive Teen Room, BCLS maintains an inviting atmosphere at the library for teens. Through its programs and policies, BCLS actively promotes and encourages reading by teens and advocates the rights of teens. For example, TAG members are guided by Bobbie Matheney, Youth Services Coordinator at Robinson-Carpenter, in planning and implementing programs for teens and children, and making recommendations to the BCLS about matters that concern teens, such as which materials to acquire for the young adult collection and how to decorate and furnish the Teen Room.
